My four-year-old daughter, Danni, is home with the flu. I'm home with her, thanks for nice, understanding people above me. She doesn't do well with the stove, so my wife and I have decided it's best if there is always an adult with her. Today is an anomaly, she is still sleeping and it is 10 a.m. Most mornings she's up before 7 a.m. whispering in my ear, "Dad ... dad ... DAD ... do you want to play?" Last night my wife, Laura, slept in the same bed as Danni to comfort her. My wife gets automatic entry into heaven for that. This isn't normal for us, we insist she sleep in her own bed, by herself. Anyone that has slept with a small child knows that as soon as they fall asleep they grow. It's amazing, my 41-inch-tall daughter can grow to over 6-feet and 500 pounds when in bed with her. She could take up two-thirds of a California King.
Report: Calabrese sexually harassed Collier school employees
The "sparkplug for change" is what the NDN called Calabrese on 10-21-06 when it endorsed Calabrese in the November general election . Well Sparkplug here's your opportunity to do one thing right...resign. If not, I can only hope the Governor's office will be contacted with a request to remove you from the School Board. If you don't like that scenario, well you have pretty much played out your sad, tired, and phony defense of "I don't remember". The same defense used by Abbot and Steve "Mr. No Show" Donovan. Get yourself an attorney, the District won't help you on this one should you want to fight it. Fight it or resign, the disgrace and shame that you have brought upon yourself, your wife and your family will stay with you forever. Have a nice life, Sparkplug.

Morristown bike plan rolling forward
This month, Morristown is officially initiating the development of a bicycle plan for our town. On February 21, the Morristown Environmental Commission is holding the first Bicycle Planning Steering Committee Meeting to develop a vision for bicycling in Morristown and identify what needs to be in the Bicycle Plan. The Steering Committee includes representatives from the Town Council, the Planning Board, The Morristown Partnership, and citizen representatives for the four wards. We still need someone to represent the 2nd Ward. Last year, the Environmental Commission held a preliminary public meeting to educate the public about bicycle facilities that are possible in Morristown. We also conducted a survey of approximately 300 people on bicycle and pedestrian use in Morristown.

My Kid Could Paint That is a documentary that brings to the fore questions of youth exploitation, celebrity culture, the "con game" that is modern art and media's role in the whole tangled mess. Filmmaker Amir Bar-Lev followed the Olmsteads through their child's rise to fame and into the infamy that followed. The story began in Binghamton, N.Y., when a local newspaper wrote up the precocious little blond whose work was being hung by an attention-happy gallery owner. The New York Times picked up on it. All of a sudden, everybody had to have "a Marla." She was compared to Jackson Pollock. And from the very start, some folks recognized her arrival on "the scene" as the ultimate art-world irony.
Meaford churches entered
The rash of church break-ins in the area continues. Break-ins at three Meaford churches, all within close proximity to each other, were discovered Sunday morning. Thieves took an undisclosed amount of petty cash from two of the three churches. Doors at two of the churches were found pried open, while a third church likely had an unlocked door, Grey County OPP media relations officer Const. Steve Starr said in a news release. The Bethany Church of Nazarene at 34 Trowbridge St. W., First Baptist Church at 35 Trowbridge St. W., and the St. Vincent Roman Catholic Church at the corner of Cook and Collingwood streets were each hit. Police in Grey, Bruce, Huron, Perth and Wellington counties have investigated a surge in church and library break-ins in the past few months.
