| Unstoppable Obama
On the basis, rather, of large-scale and unrelenting public pressure on Obama to match the vapid, happy talk with real action. As for the whole "post-partisan" thing, if it means shameless acquiescence to Repub fascistic bullying then it is worse than meaningless. But if it means politics that benefit the vast majority of people in the country, including the Repub rank and file, then it is worth doing. And if you demonstrate by means of measurable improvement in people's lives, that a more humane, progressive political philosophy is more likely to improve people's lives then you have won. It's another New Deal and they can't stop you again until your children or their children grow up and lose faith and sellout and pull the ladder up behind them again. I have no illusions about Obama.

Don't blame Duluth cops for action of one
I've been following the Jay Dailey story quite closely, and it only gets more bizarre. Can we get a blog about corrupt cops in this town?" Here's your blog. But it's probably not what you were expecting. To recap: A Duluth police officer, Jay Dailey, 42, was jailed Saturday after being treated for a gunshot wound. He is said to have been shot during a confrontation with Fulton County police officer Paul Phillips, who also was injured. Dailey faces four counts of felony aggravated assault. Gwinnett Police have not said much about what happened, but witness statements to the media paint this picture: Phillips was flagged down to help a distressed woman on Level Creek Road in Sugar Hill. He was off duty but in uniform and driving a marked patrol car.

Something to Take to Heart
Tonight, after practice, I saw this little blonde headed boy that I see around town constantly. You wanna know where I see him everytime? On the basketball court. The kid, being about as mature as you can be at his age. He is probably a 2nd grader, and he walks around town as if he was 15. Something is noticable though everytime I see him. First of all, I have yet to ever see his parents. Secondly, he doesen't seem to be the most lucky kid when it comes to who has the money and who doesen't. Living in a poor family as a kid, I know how that can be. But, everytime I see him around the court, he doesen't normally say a word to me but he will give me a little head nod. Of course, I will give one back and he will continue to watch me on the court. However, he once told me that I am his favorite basketball player and that really felt great to me.
