The West Marin Medical Center in Point Reyes Station is one of the things that makes present West Marin what it is for the rest of us. Dr. Molly Bourne has been one of the best things around West Marin. Not just because she is a really nice lady, but because she embodies what is good and true here in West Marin. She IS what medicine SHOULD be all about. She was always open to new ideas and added her creativeness to our need for health care. She cares and takes more than the proscribed 10 minutes allowed by Managed Care, per patient. She seemed to actually know each of us as a human being. She is/was a gift to West Marin. One we are losing.
Molly Bourne got broad-sided by Managed Care and the crazy reality of our nation's for-big-profit-to-stockholders health system. An excellent and caring physician is leaving us because the overall system of health care in this county is a travesty of unfairness to doctor and patient alike.

I have been a customer for over 25 years and am a bit upset that we are not receiving official records for Kootenai County anymore, but instead for Spokane County. My interest is in Kootenai County and what is happening in our neighborhoods and at our courts. It seems that there is very little coverage of our area by your paper anymore, not what I am wanting to purchase daily. I have conferred with others and they are upset also. Please advise if this is a permanent change and if it is, all I have spoken with will be canceling their subscriptions too.

However, Egypt would likely be reluctant to have an open border with a territory ruled by Islamic militants.Mr Vilnai's proposal goes against a cardinal principle that has underpinned past Palestinian-Israeli negotiations, namely that the West Bank and Gaza be treated as one territorial unit.

I believe he would have done well given a couple of years. The problems at Newcastle are deep and could not be sorted in a few months. Players with too much power and fans with no patience that only want Shearer. Anyway Sam can now sit back and count his payoff. Sometimes better to be a big fish in a little pond. .
China bans plastic shopping bags
Chinese authorities on Tuesday said they're outlawing the plastic shopping bag because of pollution and energy concerns. China's State Council said the ban will start June 1. Firms that continue to sell, make and distribute bags thicker than 0.025 mm thick will be given fines and authorities may seize goods and profits, the State Council said. "Our country consumes huge amounts of plastic bags every year. While providing convenience to consumers, they have also caused serious pollution, and waste of energy and resources, because of excessive use and inadequate recycling," the government said in a statement, according to Reuters. "We should encourage people to return to carrying cloth bags, using baskets for their vegetables." According to Worldwatch Institute, an environmental research group, plastic bags dissolve over 1,000 years.

President Bush was meeting with the Fed chairman, Ben Bernanke, and the treasury secretary, Hank Paulson, Friday to discuss ways of boosting the economy. A breakdown of Friday's official U.S. data showed that during December, manufacturing industries shed 31,000 jobs and construction businesses cut another 49,000. There were 31,000 more government jobs created and 44,000 were added in education and health services, but retail industries cut more than 24,000 jobs. Weekly hours of work were unchanged at 33.8 in December but overtime hours dropped to 3.9 from 4.1 in November.
