| Cycle through winter: For commuting or just having fun, riding a bike ...
Studded tires for bikes? Sure. You can also get chains if you want to join the intrepid cyclists who commute to work on two-wheelers during the winter, or who just want to have fun in the snow. "I've been riding a bicycle for my main transportation for over 30 years. It's a force of habit," says John Schwenker, a 51-year-old aerospace engineer from Boulder, Colo., a place where winter conditions aren't too different than they are here. He rides four miles to his office, and four miles back, even in the snow. "It's a matter of going slow in the stuff," he says. Bikes aren't just for sunny summer weather. There are those across the country — whether for environmental reasons, fun or fitness — who so love cycling that they ride year-round, pretty much regardless of the weather.

2007 Subaru Forester Sports XT Review
"Crossover" means a motor vehicle that offers a cross between carlike comfort and SUV style, with SUV ground clearance. The car is usually some sort of family sedan, and your typical crossover is really the contemporary station wagon. Your typical crossover is practical and roomy, and can hold people and cargo in almost endless variation. Your typical crossover is also, for the enthusiast driver, about as exciting as the family sedan in its ancestry, which is to say "not very". The Subaru Forester XT is a little different, as the car in its ancestry is a WRX. Or, to be more exact, a WRX STi. Coming from that gene pool, boredom is guaranteed to be banished. The Forester debuted a decade ago as the first Subaru made expressly as a crossover, following in the successful footsteps of the Legacy-derived Outback and smaller Impreza Outback Sport.
Radio & TV Talk
I'm excited about the future at this station, it's a station I listen to all the time (I'm a talk radio guy) and the crew is a blast. Good stuff, and in hindsight I'm glad things worked out the way they did, I'm really happy. And V-103/WAOK-AM are holding a combo town hall meeting later today from 6 to 8 p.m. about school violence. Frank Ski and Lorraine Jacques-White will preside. "We had been wanting to do it for awhile," Ski said. "With the recent incident at McNair High School, we figured it was a good time."
