Ronnie Thomson Touched Many Lives
MACON, GA (BRAIN)Ronnie Thomson didn't live to see 69 this Thursday, but he did live long enough to touch everyone in the bicycle industry including most of all his employees. "Ronnie always said the best marketing was to have the best product," said The L.H. Thomson Company marketing manager David Parrett. "He expected the very best out of all of us and anyone who did business with us." Thomson passed away in the middle of the night at his home over the weekend. Parrett said that Thomson was recovering from bladder cancer, but said his "sudden" death had nothing to do with that, and more likely was a "stroke or heart attack." "Ronnie was always like a father figure," said Karen Glass, accounts coordinator for the company, who had known Thomson for almost 10 years. "I know this will be a rough road for the entire Thomson family.

Teen Charged in Tenn. School Shooting
A feud between two high school students that began off campus culminated at a gym class Monday when one student shot the other twice, then handed the gun to a coach, saying, "It's over now," authorities said. The victim, a 19-year-old senior, was in critical condition at a hospital, authorities said. The suspected shooter, 17-year-old sophomore Corneilous Cheers, was charged with attempted first-degree murder, reckless endangerment and carrying a gun on school property, said police spokeswoman Monique Martin. The teenagers got into a confrontation off campus over the weekend or last week, police said. Investigators were trying to determine whether it was related to gang activity, Martin said. A detention hearing was scheduled for Tuesday in juvenile court for Cheers, who did not yet have a lawyer.

Another test is to run your fingernail across the surface radially. If your nail catches, the rotor needs to be resurfaced. If not, you're probably okay, provided there's enough thickness left on a true-running rotor. Uniform thickness is critical. Measure each rotor with an outside micrometer at a number of evenly spaced points around the lining contact surface. A variation of .005 in. or more is enough to cause the pulsation you feel. Lateral runout is caused by a rotor that's uniform in thickness, but is wavy. Uneven thickness and excessive runout often go together. That is, the runout causes the uneven wear on the rotor.
