Your Comments : FDB ends loan deal

We, further this IG or future Government should investigate ALL “kilavata loans" liberally given during the Qarase and Kaloumaira era. Not that these two fine gentlemen personally colluded in some of these dubious loans, but Political pressures asserted to the FDB Board by successive Governments have to be revisited!!

Especially, unsecured “dravata loans" guaranteed by Alliance MPs, certain NFP MPs, FLP MPs, Lawyers, Senior members of the Judiciary, Church Leaders, Fijian Holdings and NLTB Trust Department!!

Most loans deemed high risk at Commercial Banks are normally receiving a welcoming ceremony at FDB. May be check all interest of former and present FDB Board members, immediate family and friends.

We say, FDB like it's pioneer baby should primarily lend on the Agri Financing and other development of other Natural resources.

Eric Margan and his Red Lions not taking ordinary approach to music

Talk with Eric Margan, the 21-year-old brainchild behind The Red Lions, and he might talk about how he's flattered when his work is characterized as a sort of contemporary chamber music — a thoughtfully arranged amalgam of sounds that happens to be fit for a rock club.

He'll talk about how he writes out the sheet music for the rest of The Red Lions, but dismisses the notion that this approach is high-brow, saying it's merely the most efficient way to get the band to learn a song. And he'll talk about how his guitar belongs in a spot not typical when considering the recent history of popular music.

“I never wanted the guitar to be the backbone," Margan says during an interview last week at a coffeehouse in Albany, just down the street from The College of Saint Rose, where he studied music.

Police blotter

A Frederick man was arrested Wednesday on theft charges, according to the Frederick County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies searched 48-year-old Wilbert P. Price's residence in the 9600 block of Brigadoon Place and found stolen items, including electronic game systems, jewelry and a credit card, according to Cpl. Jennifer Bailey of the Frederick County Sheriff's Office.

Price was charged with first-degree burglary, theft of over $500 and destruction of property.

With help from a witness, deputies identified Price as a suspect in a Jan. 11 burglary in the 9600 block of Brigadoon Place. Deputies then obtained a search warrant for Price's residence.

Deputies looked for similarities between that case and a burglary of another home on the same block Jan. 7, in which the electronic equipment was stolen, Bailey said.
